This online education provides an introduction an overview of diversity, wellness and reablement and their interconnected relationship. The principles of person-centre care and its connection to independence, choice and autonomy are explored. The need to work together with clients and focus on their strengths and potential is detailed along with case studies, reflective practice and their connection with clients diversity and experiences of privilege, discrimination and inequality.
An overview of the diversity, equity and inclusion continuum is reviewed while concepts of power and privilege are used to introduce and explain intersectionality. Participants are asked to reflect on questions of equity, diversity and belonging to support their learning and further connect an intersectional framework with the principles of diversity, wellness, and person-centre care. These sessions introduce these themes and topics that participants are encouraged to further explore within their organisations and communities.
