The Aged Care Quality Standards came into effect on 1st July 2019, bringing significant changes. This included a greater focus on consumer’s diversity, interests, culture and background. With these changes, it is crucial that service providers understand how to provide evidence to demonstrate that they actively consider and address consumer’s diversity in line with the requirements of the Aged Care Quality Standards.
To support this, the Victorian Diversity Advisor's developed a free webinar that explores how diversity issues need to be addressed when implementing the Aged Care Quality Standards. This session is not an “Introduction to the Standards”, it is specifically addressing diversity considerations and how different consumer diversity characteristics and experiences interact with the Aged Care Quality Standards.
It is highly recommended that service providers engage with the available resources provided by the Aged Care Quality Commission including relevant videos , webinars and information on Open Disclosure prior to watching this webinar.
